Cool physics and chemistry chaos for visiting school students
The University of Wollongong hosted the 11th Annual Siemens Science Experience -- a three-day science course for students entering Year 10 - this week.
More than 50 students from Broken Hill to Batemans Bay visited the University to take part in various activities including 'Cool Physics - measuring the temperature of absolute zero', 'Chemistry Chaos - a crazy concoction of chemical creations' and 'Fish Biodiversity in Lake Illawarra'. Students also paid a visit to the Science Centre.
Faculty of Science Dean Professor Margaret Sheil said the program, organised by the Science Schools Foundation, is aimed to give students an introduction to science, engineering and technology studies at the University.
