Vice-Chancellor’s Award for Outstanding Contribution to Teaching and Learning:

Matthew Perry, Technical Office, Faculty of Education.

One of the University of Wollongong’s (UOW) greatest ambassadors, known for his dedication and charm, was recently awarded the inaugural Vice-Chanellor’s Award for Unique Contribution to University Life.

More than 200 people attended the awards evening on Friday, 25 June.

Dr Ray Cleary, of the Graham Park Campus, Berry, was honoured for stamping his mark on the life and development of the university with the sheer force of his character and the special nature of his achievement.

Head of the campus since its opening in 1993, the exuberant friend, colleague and mentor of students and staff, has developed new prospects for the university and gone fearlessly and with matchless bonhomie, into the wider community.

25 Years Service: Grahame Morris, Department of Mathematics and Applied Statistics; and Barry Harper, Faculty of Education.

Outstanding Service, General Staff:

Helen Fletcher, Resource Room Supervisor, Faculty of Commerce.
