Expert In Focus

Associate Professor Karen Charlton

Associate Professor Karen Charlton, from the School of Medicine, is an expert on nutritional epidemiology and diet management in the prevention of chronic diseases, particularly hypertension and obesity. She recently penned an opinion piece for The Conversation how people living in areas of highest socioeconomic disadvantage have a 29% higher risk of being obese.
