Martin awarded Honorary Professorship in China

Professor Stephen Martin from the Graduate School of Business and Professional Development at UOW was recently awarded an Honorary Professorship in China.

Professor Martin was awarded the Honorary Professorship by the Hebei University of Economics and Business in recognition of his work in developing closer links with trade, business and education between Australia and China.

Hebei University of Economics and Business is the pre-eminent university in Shijiazhuang City, the capital of Hebei Province and has a student population of more than 18,000.

Professor Martin was presented with the award by the President of the Hebei University, Professor Wang Ying. He also presented a paper at the University entitled 'China and Australia: Relationships in International Trade'.

Professor Martin said it was a great honour to be recignised in this way, and that he will continue to be a staunch advocate for improving economic, trade and education relations between China and Australia.

During his visit to China, Professor Martin held discussions with Hebei and Renmin University in Beijing on potential co-operation in academic and student exchanges, and in providing post-graduate business courses in China.
