Camtu aims high in life
May 31, 2004
Minister for the Illawarra, Mr David Campbell, recently launched
the motivational book, Aim High Fly Fast, by former student
and employee of the University of Wollongong, Camtu Pham.
It has been a long journey for Ms Pham since she migrated
to Australia from Vietnam 20 years ago, barely able to speak
a word of English. She has since completed her HSC, a Master's
degree in commerce and a degree in computer science from UOW.
While at UOW, Ms Pham managed the UOW website and the Y2K
projects, the UniCentre Leadership and Business Development
Program and lectured for management and e-business in 2000
and 2001. She later founded an information technology consultative
business called CleverLink in 1998 which was recently recognised
alongside Yahoo, Canon and Nokia as one of the top IT companies
in Australia.
Ms Pham has decided to give 20 per cent of all sales from
her book (which will be published in several languages including
Vietnamese ) to the Fred Hollows Foundation. She said the
book was full of ideas and techniques to help people achieve
more in life by understanding themselves better and appreciating
what they had.
Aim High Fly Fast is available from www.FoodForMyBrain.com;
and also the UniCentre Bookshop, and Wollongong Dymocks.
