UOW academic's birthday bash

Professor Jim Hagan celebrated his 75th birthday last week (Friday 22 October), joined by friends and colleagues.

Professor Hagan has a very long association with the University of Wollongong and was the first Dean appointed to the Faculty of Arts.

He is also a very well known local identity, as his long-standing research interests in labour history has brought him into contact with local, state, federal politicians, trade unionists, employees and employers.

Professor Hagan is still very active in research with his current project dealing with indigenous workers in Indian rubber plantations in the early 20th Century.
