Vice-Chancellor visits first female President of a Thai university

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Wollongong, Professor Gerard Sutton, recently met the first female to be appointed a President of a Thai university. Professor Sutton discussed governance issues and higher education reforms in Australia and Thailand with Chulalongkorn University’s Professor Khunying Suchada Kiranandana. The pair also discussed issues relating to cross faculty and multidisciplinary collaboration and e-commerce research. Further possible developments between the two universities are expected to be pursued. Chulalongkorn University is Thailand’s oldest university founded in 1917 by his Majesty King Vajiravudh (Rama V1).
Located in the heart of Bangkok, Chulalongkorn University now offers over 351 study programs in 19 faculties, a graduate school and 16 specialised institutes and colleges. The University has more than 27,000 students. |
