Eager students attend Early Entry interviews
Sep 27, 2005
Save on stress – get in early. This was the message going out to students who attended interviews for the Faculty of Informatics Early Entry Program held at the University of Wollongong Hall yesterday (27 September). The Early Entry program gives current Year 12 students the chance to apply for early entry into a number of the Informatics degrees including Electrical, Computer and Telecommunications Engineering, Information Engineering, Physics Technology and Computer Science and Mathematics and Applied Statistics. Entry is based on the student’s trial HSC results, along with a resume/portfolio and an interview. Current UOW students who were accepted via Early Entry strongly recommend the program, saying that it allowed them to relax and really concentrate on the HSC, with the knowledge that they had already been accepted to UOW. UOW offers Early Entry through the Faculties of Informatics, Science, Engineering and Physics and for the Indigenous Health and Population Health degrees in the Faculty of Health and Behavioural Sciences. Students who attended the University for interviews were also offered a guided tour of the Wollongong campus, and the opportunity to discuss their areas of interest with academic advisers. -RP
