Soccer team's remarkable achievements recognised

The all-conquering UOW women's soccer team was honoured at a special function at the University Recreation and Aquatic Centre (URAC) on 7 December.

Among the guests were the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Gerard Sutton; the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Operations), Professor John Patterson; the Executive Director of URAC, Mr Paul Manning; and sponsors from the National Australia Bank. The event was conducted following the final URAC board meeting for the year.

The team's phenomenal year produced the following impressive results:

. The 2005 Illawarra Women's Soccer Association Grand Final

. The 2005 Illawarra Women's Soccer Association Number 10 Cup

. The 2005 Eastern University Games Women's Soccer Championship (undefeated and champions in this competition since 2000)

. The 2005 Australian University Games Women's Soccer Championship (Champions also in 2001, 2003, 2004)

. The 2005 NSW Soccer State Cup (All Age Women)

. The 2005 NSW Soccer Champion of Champions (All Age Women)
