2006 Vice-Chancellor's Awards

The 2006 University of Wollongong Vice-Chancellor's Awards Function was held on Friday 23 June, formally recognising the outstanding contributions and service of staff members.

The awards were attended by the Chancellor, Michael Codd AC; Vice-Chancellor, Professor Gerard Sutton; Vice-Principal (Administration), Mr Chris Grange; Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Professor Rob Castle; Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research), Professor Margaret Sheil; Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Operations), Professor John Patterson, Vice-Principal (International), Mr James Langridge and Professor Don Lewis from the Faculty of Commerce.

Colleagues, friends and family of the award recipients were also present to show their support and appreciation.

Award categories included 25 Years Service Awards, Outstanding Service for General Staff, Outstanding Contribution to Teaching and Learning (Faculty and Vice-Chancellor awards), Excellence in Research Supervision 2005, Excellence in Community Engagement, the Special Award for Outstanding and Exceptional Achievement and the Marie Lewis Award.

Award recipients unable to attend the ceremony included Dr Ted Booth (Education), Mrs Anne Brown (Library), Bernadette Stephens (Library), Associate Professor Peter Wypych (Faculty of Engineering) Gloria Wood (Management System), Dr Wendy Russell (Faculty of Science) and Dr Colleen McGloin (ARD).
