ARC Centre Director addresses world congress

Australian Research Council (ARC) Federation Fellow and Director of the ARC Centre of Excellence for Electromaterials, Professor Gordon Wallace, recently delivered a plenary lecture to the World Congress on Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering in Seoul, Korea. About 2,500 scientists, engineers and medical practitioners from 69 countries gathered in Seoul to present and discuss the latest developments in areas such as new health monitoring technologies, home health care, biosensors, bioinformatics and bionics. Professor Wallace delivered a Plenary Lecture entitled “Nanostructured (Organic) Electrodes: New Bionic Interfaces”. He described the work carried out in the ARC Centre of Excellence covering bionic interfaces for control of biomolecular, cellular and biomechanical events. The scientific program covered a wide range of issues and challenges in medical physics and biomedical engineering and their potential to contribute to improved health care throughout the world.
