Workshop for Chinese Ministry of Public Security delegates
Nov 20, 2006
UOW's Centre for Transnational Crime Prevention is running a 10-day workshop for a delegation of 26 Chinese Ministry of Public Security delegates until November 25. The purpose of the cultural and educational visit by the Ministry of Public Security Economic Crime and Investigation Division is to learn more about financial crimes, anti-money laundering and terrorist financing. Critical to their visit, with the passing of China's anti-money laundering legislation recently, is how to better address financial crimes. Site visits will include sessions for the delegates with the Australian Federal Police, Australian Crime Commission, NSW Police, the courts and prosecutions areas in Sydney and Wollongong and the Australian Taxation Office.
