Engineering hosts annual Creative Design Competition

Dec 01, 2006

This year's Faculty of Engineering Creative Design Competition featured a crowd control barrier, jack in the box, train platform extension and a pneumatic puncture proof shock absorbing bicycle tyre - just to name a few.

The competition final took place in November at the University of Wollongong and attracted students, academics and the community who saw an eclectic display of creative thinking, innovation and design.

The projects were the end result of 1st year engineering students applying their skills to solving some very interesting problems.

The Creative Design prizes were sponsored by UOW's Faculty of Engineering, the Illawarra/Sutherland Regional Group of the Institution of Engineers Australia, an international firm and local industries.
