Photography competition highlights UOW research

Dec 08, 2006

The Institute for Conservation Biology and Law (ICBL) at the University of Wollongong has been conducting a photography competition for its students and staff which highlights the wide range of research that is being carried out within the institute.

The Institute combines expertise in conservation law and policy with strong research in evolutionary and environmental biology.

Over sixty entries have been received for the competition and the photographic images were accompanied by text explaining their relationship to a current ICBL research project.

Some winners have already been announced. As well as a formal judging process, the images feature on the ICBL website so that voting can take place for the Peoples Choice prize which is being awarded on December 15.

A selection of the photographs have been used to produce a calendar that wil be avaialable for sale from next week. There will also be a display from 18 - 31 March 2007 at Project Contemporary Artspace in Keira Street Wollongong.

To view the images and to vote please visit: ICBL and follow the links.
