First meeting held for leading organisations on End Users Committee

Feb 02, 2007

An important aspect of the Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence in Electromaterials Science (ACES) work is the identification and efficient dissemination of findings of interest to “End Users” -- which includes the Australian industry sector.

To assist in this endeavour, ACES has enlisted the help of a talented high powered End Users Committee that comprises representatives from BlueScope, Rio Tinto, Schefenacker, Vision Systems, CAP-XX, Cochlear and DSTO (Defence Science and Technology Organisation).

The committee met for the first time at UOW on January 30. The group will review the research activities and findings of ACES through 2007 and report their findings and recommendations to the International Advisory Board of ACES in February 2008.

ACES Director, Professor Gordon Wallace, said it was envisaged that the group would help define future research paths for the ACES group that would help maximise the return to Australian End Users.

ACES comprises researchers from UOW (Intelligent Polymer Research Institute – lead node, Monash University and St Vincent’s Hospital/Bionic Ear Institute).
