UOW medical students get physical

Feb 07, 2007

Over 100 University of Wollongong medical students and academics were put through their paces by staff from the University Recreation and Aquatic Centre recently as part of a group bonding session.

The session included a variety of novelty games with the emphasis being on teamwork, communication and exercise.

Games included a balloon challenge where teams were pitted against one another with the object of keeping their balloon afloat while trying to knock the opposition teams down to the ground, a basketball shoot out where each team had to shoot as many baskets as they could in the allotted time, tunnel ball, captain ball and a water relay which required teams to transfer water from one place to another.

The most entertaining activity of the day was a whipped cream relay race which required all team members to race one another in finding a piece of chewing gum hidden in whipped cream.

“The day definitely met its objective of bringing everyone together, as there is no better bond than competition,” said URAC Programs Manager, Lee Murray.
