Employee's 25 years' service to International House celebrated

Joan Shepherd was yesterday (7 June) recognised for her catering service of more than 25 years at International House, Accommodation Services, UOW.

She was joined by family members, Accommodation Services staff, International House students and Scolarest staff to celebrate the 25 years’ of service.

Dr Lindsay Oades, (Co-Head, International House) said Joan was likely to have served more than 6,000 students from more than 60 nations in her time so far at International House.

“And as our food services are contracted out, she has worked for P&0, Spotless, Sodexho and now Scolarest in her years of service", Dr Oades said.

Joan is soon to be interviewed by a journalism student who now lives at International House and she will document Joan’s stories which span more than a quarter of a century.
