Informatics holds Prize Presentation

The Faculty of Informatics held its 8th annual Prize Presentation Ceremony recently in the UniCentre Function Rooms where 46 prizes were awarded.

Over 170 people attended the event comprising donors, recipients, staff and guests.

This presentation publically recognises the high- achieving students from the 2006 academic year.

The Faculty paid thanks to their number of 'generous' donors for their continued support of its successful students and commented that the prize recipients should feel justly proud of their achievements.

 

 

Louise Ray was presented with the Women In Electrical Engineering Scholarship by the Head of School, Professor Fazel Naghdy. This scholarship is awarded to a full-time student in the Bachelor of Engineering who has achieved outstanding results and commitment to her degree. Louise is pictured with her proud family.

Director of the Australian Mathematical Sciences Institute, Professor Philip Broadbridge and Head of the School of Mathematics and Applied Statistics, Associate Professor Tim Marchant present the Broadbridge Prize to Oliver Towers and Andrew Holder. This prize is awarded for the best performance in MATH111 Applied Mathematical modelling I.

Founding Dean and the first head of Department of Computer Science at UOW, Professor Juris Reinfelds, and Head of Computer Science and Software Engineering, Professor Philip Ogunbona, present the prize awarded in memory of the Late Ross Nealon to the student with the best overall performance in the second year of their Bachelor of Computer Science degree - Xin Luo
