Year 10 students contemplate their future university careers
Jun 20, 2007
An Information Evening was held last night (19 June) for Year 10 Illawarra students contemplating studying at the University of Wollongong. The aim of the evening was to provide an opportunity for Year 10 students and their parents to gain critical information regarding subject selection, UAI, HSC scaling and the differences between school and university. More importantly, the evening provided the opportunity for prospective students to speak with faculty representatives and start planning for their future. This event aimed at being informative and personalised particularly for parents who need to know this information so they can better assist their child. Parents have significant influence of where their son or daughter chooses to attend university, so this event provided UOW with the ability to interact with this key group. All faculties attended as well as Wollongong College Australia (WCA) and TAFE. It was held in the McKinnon Building. A similar event for high school students in the southern Sydney region was held at Gymea on Monday night.
