Workshop held on Leadership and Management in Research on Asia and the Pacific

CAPSTRANS (Centre for Asia Pacific Social Transformation Studies) along with UOW and the Australian Research Council (ARC) Asia Pacific Futures Research Network have been hosting the “Scaling Research Heights” – postgraduate and early career researcher workshop on leadership and management in research on Asia and the Pacific. The workshop is being conducted over 17 and 18 July.
Following its official opening, the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research), Professor Lee Astheimer, spoke on the topic, “Looking Ahead: Promotion and Establishing a Research Portfolio”.
Among the keynote speakers are Professor Stuart Cunningham who is Professor of Media and Communications, Queensland University of Technology, and Director of the ARC Centre of Excellence for Creative Industries and Innovation; Professor Krishna Sen, Executive Director of Humanities and Creative Arts at the ARC; and Stephen Hill who is currently an Honorary Professorial Fellow and ad-hoc Special Representative of the Director-General of UNESCO who is also attached to CAPSTRANS at UOW.
The workshop convener is the Deputy Director of CAPSTRANS, Dr Tim Scrase.
