Medical students vie for Vampire Cup

23 Aug 2007 | Renee Criddle

A group of University of Wollongong medical students this week donated blood at the Red Cross Donation Centre at Wollongong Hospital.

The donations were part of an Australian Medical Students Association (AMSA) National Blood Drive initiative.

The Graduate School of Medicine is also competing against a range of schools across Australia for the coveted ‘Vampire Cup’ for the most donations per capita of medical students.

The AMSA is the peak representative body for medical students in Australia.

Its National Blood Drive has run successfully since 2000 and aims to encourage not only medical students but also family, friends and colleagues to donate blood and contribute to a very worthy cause.
