Inaugural medical students ball attracts 200
About 200 people attended the recent University of Wollongong Medical Students’ Society inaugural ball held at the City Beach Function Centre.
The event was a major fund raiser for the society and attracted 74 medical students which represented almost the Graduate School of Medicine’s full complement of students.
Also in attendance were Graduate School of Medicine academic and general staff from the UOW and Nowra campuses and doctors from the Wollongong and Shoalhaven regions.
During the festivities, students named Professor Norman Carr as the Medical Students’ Society Lecturer of the Year.
Organisers thanked various sponsors who supported the ball including platinum sponsor Avant; gold (Symbion and MIPS); and silver: Southern Pathology, MDA National and Experion.
