Management students hold poster exhibition

Management students in the Faculty of Commerce demonstrated creativity, enthusiasm and their knowledge of real world corporate problems this week when they held their biannual poster display this week (Wednesday 3 October).
The exhibition was held as part of the Management 110 subject – ‘Introduction to Management’.
The aim of the project was to research and explore contemporary management issues that have attracted national and/or international media attention over the past 10 years.
Key organiser of the display, Michael Gross, said the group poster assessment was part of a simulation exercise to develop students’ appreciation of the real complexities involved in managing contemporary organisations.
“We received a number of favourable comments about this session’s particular display in relation to the diversity and quality of the posters presented,” he said.
Students were also required to produce an individual reflective essay, based on journal entries over the life of their project teams, to demonstrate their ability to apply relevant management theories to their team experiences in creating the group poster.
The reflective essay allowed students to critique their individual experiences related to their group’s performance.
