9 Oct 2007 | Bernie Goldie
A bilateral collaborative agreement has now been formally signed between UOW and the Shanghai Institute of Microsystem and Information Technology (SIMIT), Chinese Academy of Science.
It is a comprehensive research agreement on a wide range of research topics, including hydrogen storage, fuel cells technology, superconductivity and Terra Hertz Science.
Professor Shixue Dou, Director of the Institute for Superconducting and Electronic Materials (ISEM) and Professor Huakun Liu, Co-ordinator of the Energy Materials Program at ISEM visited SIMIT in August to finalise the formal agreement between the two institutions.
Professor Chao Zhang has previously obtained a special China-Australia fund with Professor Cao at SIMIT for the next three years. Dr Xuebin Yu has been a Visiting Fellow at ISEM to work on hydrogen storage materials with Professor Liu for the CSIRO flagship project.
In the latest round of Australian Research Council funding, Dr Yu won an Australian Postdoctoral Fellowship at the ISEM for the next three years.
“These successful grants will significantly enhance the collaboration between these two institutions,” Professor Dou said.
