Tide comes in for Writing students

Kung fu, sex and rehab are just some of the themes in Tide 2007 – the annual publication of creative writing from the students of University of Wollongong and the wider community.

Tide is produced entirely by third-year editing students from the Creative Writing program and is designed to give editing students the experience of working on a real publication.

Under the guidance of Dr Shady Cosgrove, 16 students were involved in all aspects of production, from soliciting work for the magazine to raising funds for printing costs.

“Students have worked really hard to make this happen,” Dr Cosgrove said. “Through the fundraising, editing and graphic design they’ve been passionate, pedantic and committed - the best attributes for future editors.”

Tide 2007 will be launched this Friday (26 October) in the Faculty of Creative Arts foyer (Building 25) at 7pm. Light refreshments will be provided.
