Over 120 student residents enjoyed the sunshine and sampled the wide range of food on offer at the Kooloobong Food Festival last weekend.
Kooloobong is a student accommodation residence on the University of Wollongong campus and houses close to 200 students from around the world.
With a strong international focus, students cooked and prepared dishes from their own countries which represented Australia, Thailand, Hong Kong, Japan, Iran, Mexico, USA, Finland, Germany, Canada and France.
The diverse selection included meat pies and pavlova from Australia, lobipolo (rice, bean and meat dish) from Iran, potato salad from Finland, chicken curry wings from Thailand and Mexican omelet.
“The festival was also great excuse to relax before the start of exams and celebrate the diverse culture of Kooloobong while sampling some delicious food,” said Accommodation Services Marketing Manager, Edwina Ellicott.
“Amir Riahi and the Community Involvement Association from Kooloobong did a wonderful job at organising the event.”
