IT tradeshow showcases range of projects

UOW’s School of Computer Science and Software Engineering and the School of Information Systems and Technology on 25 October conducted a tradeshow showcasing projects developed by final year undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Projects on display at the University Hall ranged from:

    • Artificial intelligence and simulations

    • Programming

    • Multimedia

    • Robotics

    • Security and

    • Information Systems

Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Operations) Professor John Patterson officially opened the tradeshow.

A special keynote address was given by Informatics PhD graduate Gareth Brisbane. Gareth began his university career part-time in Wollongong as a 12-year-old and it culminated when he was awarded a PhD in Computer Science. By the time he was 19 he had finished a double degree in computing and mathematics. He now works as a consultant programmer.
