UK dementia care specialist visits Illawarra

The Eastern Australian Dementia Training Study Centre based at UOW has been hosting the visit of Jan Dewing, a United Kingdom specialist in dementia care.
Jan is an Associate Lecturer at the University of Ulster and a Visiting Fellow at Northumbria University.
Her area of expertise lies in assisting practitioners to improve the care for people with dementia. One of her particular interests is supporting people with dementia who wander. To this end, she has developed an internationally recognised website offering information and support.
Jan has been hosting a practice development workshop, a guest lecture and a clinical dementia workshop while in the Illawarra.
