Wollongong Council General Manager speaks on emerging opportunities in the Illawarra

University of Wollongong graduate and General Manager of Wollongong City Council, Mr David Farmer, was the guest speaker at a Commerce and Business Alumni Network breakfast today (Wednesday 14 November).
The University of Wollongong Alumni Network has established a number of Chapters and Networks, one of which is the Commerce and Business Alumni Network.
The network is made up of volunteer alumni who represent graduates and current students in the Faculty of Commerce and the Graduate School of Business.
One of the main projects that the Commerce and Business Alumni Network undertakes each year is its breakfast seminar series.
The breakfast seminar series for 2007 is entitled Opportunity Knocks Illawarra. The aim of Opportunity Knocks Illawarra is to explore the concept of entrepreneurship in a regional context.
Mr Farmer, who graduated from UOW with a commerce degree in 1987, spoke about his perceptions on emerging opportunities in the Illawarra and his ideas on innovation in business.
The breakfast was held at the UniCentre Function Rooms.
