Waratahs tune up for 2008 at UOW

The University of Wollongong’s Weerona College is hosting the Super 14 Waratahs for a three-day pre-season training camp that will get the team on target for their 2008 campaign.
While in Wollongong the Waratahs are training on the University sports fields, and utilising the fitness facilities and tennis courts at Beaton Park.
Last year’s Captain Adam Freier, recent Australian Rugby Championship player of the tournament Kurtley Beale, and re-signed Lote Turqiri were some of the big names to roll in Tuesday afternoon.
Housing and feeding the 50 plus athletes is no small feat. Weerona's maintenance staff have created a temporary physiotherapy room and replaced 30 beds with king-singles to service the towering heights of most of the players, including lock/flanker Dean Mumm’s 1.96cm frame. Chef Danielle Hanigan has strict dietary guidelines for the players and is keeping them well stocked over the camp with over 100 kg of meat, and hundreds of litres of liquids including sports drinks, milk and yoghurt.
