Rotaract's 'Head Shave for a Cure'
13 Mar 2008 | Nick Hartgerink
As part of World Rotaract Week celebrating 40 years of the organisation, the UOW Rotaract Club conducted a 'Head Shave for a Cure' to help raise money for the Leukaemia Foundation on March 12.
UOW Rotaract has been operating for six years, and on Sunday (16 March) will join Rotaract clubs in District 9750, Sydney to the South Coast, at Panorama House at Bulli Tops to celebrate the organisation's 40 years of service.
Rotaract is a worldwide youth network for 18-30-year-olds and was founded in 1968 in North Carolina by Rotary International. Rotaract aims to encourage young people to take part in their community.
Information on the Leukaemia Foundation's World's Greatest Shave can be found at www.worldsgreatestshave.com which highlights how every hour of every day someone in Australia is diagnosed with leukaemia, lymphoma or myeloma.
