Campus East conducts fundraiser for Leukaemia Foundation
10 Apr 2008 | Bernie Goldie
Campus East has gone “Crazy 4A Cure” and raised $1,028 for the Leukaemia Foundation.
Residents and staff all pledged to undergo crazy hairstyles or hair removal as fund- raising goals were met. Pledges or undertakings include:
• 10 of the residential advisers colouring their hair
• Administrative, cleaning and catering staff wearing crazy wigs and hats for a week
• Residential Advisers Lucy Gilbert and Amy Pagett having a strip of their hair shaved
• Residential Advisers Scott Lynch and Pranav Agarwal and the Head of Campus East, James Atkinson, having their legs waxed. Residential Adviser Ivan Kumar having his forearms waxed
“I am so proud of this fundraising effort,” said James Atkinson, Head of Campus East.
“As we got closer and closer to our $1,000 target, residents dug further into their pockets to meet the goal. We’re now living in an even more vibrant community – people wearing hats, wigs, sporting a variety of wonderful and colourful hairstyles, while some don’t have a lot of hair anymore!”
The college has thanked Allure Hairy and Beauty Studio at Shop 5/78 Daisy Street, Fairy Meadow, for its support and professional services.
