21 Apr 2008 | Bernie Goldie
The University of Wollongong today (21 April) hosts an international conference in Sydney focused on applications of information security technologies.
The 4th Information Security Practice and Experience Conference is being held at the Crowne Plaza at Darling Harbour and runs until 23 April.
Participants are attending from the United Kingdom, United States, Singapore, Germany, Belgium, France, Korea, China, Switzerland, Japan, India, Spain, The Netherlands and Norway.
Conference General Chair, Associate Professor Willy Susilo from the University of Wollongong’s School of Computer Science and Software Engineering, said that as applications of information security technologies become pervasive, issues pertaining to their deployment and operation are becoming increasingly important.
He said the conference would bring together researchers and practitioners who would provide the latest information on security technologies, their applications and their integration with IT systems in various sectors.
Three preceding conferences have been held in Singapore, and in Hangzhou (China) and Hong Kong (China).
Conference co-chairs are Associate Professor Yi Mu from UOW’s School of Computer Science and Software Engineering and Dr Liqun Chen from Hewlett-Packard in the United States.
