Jewish students union conducts Holocaust Commemoration

The University of Wollongong’s Union of Jewish Students conducted a Holocaust Commemoration today (Friday 2 May) at the Kemira Room, UniCentre.
A feature of the commemoration was a presentation by internationally renowned expert on the Holocaust, Konrad Kwiet.
He was chief historian of the Australian War Crimes Commission and is now Professor of Jewish Studies at the University of Sydney where he lectures in Holocaust studies. He is also Emeritus Professor of German Studies and Deputy Director of the Centre for Comparative Genocide Studies at Macquarie University.
Professor Kwiet also worked with the man dubbed the ‘Conscience of the Holocaust’ Simon Wiesenthal who died in Vienna aged 96 in 2005.
