9 May 2008 | Bernie Goldie
UOW’s School of Mathematics and Applied Statistics is conducting a three-day workshop which has attracted speakers from Italy, the United Kingdom, Mexico, New Zealand and Australia.
It is the Australian Mathematical Sciences Institute (AMSI) Workshop on Mathematics Applied to Liquid Crystal Technologies.
Two of the speakers were paid to attend the workshop through UOW’s University Internationalisation Committee (UIC) grant scheme.
The UIC provides grants each year to fund projects that support the development of strong research and teaching collaborations with reputable international partner institutions.
The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and International) Professor Rob Castle presented a short talk at the start of the workshop.
