NSW Auditor-General guest symposium speaker

The Auditor-General of New South Wales, Mr Peter Achterstraat, was one of the guest speakers at a symposium conducted by UOW’s School of Accounting and Finance on August 15.
Sponsored by the Social Accounting and Accountability Research Centre, the symposium was entitled “Collective Responsibility, Ethics and Governance Symposium”.
Joining Mr Achterstraat as speakers at the symposium were the Director of Internal Audit of Orange County, California, Dr Peter Hughes; and UOW’s Professor Susan Dodds who is Professor of Philosophy and Head of the School of English Literatures, Philosophy and Languages.
UOW’s Master of Forensic Accounting Team were also participants in the symposium.
Symposium organiser, Associate Professor Mary Kaidonis, from the School of Accounting and Finance said creating better futures was a collective responsibility and this was reflected by the symposium bringing together insights from theory, legislation, practice, education and research.
