Informatics helps host international computer security conference
UOW’s Centre for Computer and Information Security Research in the Faculty of Informatics jointly hosted an international conference on Information, Computer and Communications Security.
ASIACCS 2009 (the Association for Computing Machinery Symposium on Information, Computer and Communications Security) was held in Sydney last week. It was hosted and sponsored by UOW together with Macquarie University and the University of Calgary, Canada.
ASIACCS, now in its fourth year, has previously been held in Taiwan, Singapore and Tokyo.
The Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) is the world’s largest educational and scientific computing society, and participants from around the world, including delegates from Austria, US, UK, Belgium, Luxembourg, Japan, Korea, India, Singapore, China, Denmark and Canada, attended the conference.
General Co-chairs of the conference included Associate Professor Willy Susilo and Dr Wanqing Li, and on the organising committee were other UOW academics including Dean of Informatics Professor Philip Ogunbona and Associate Professor Yi Mu.
