International workshop targets electronic materials
A two-day workshop begins at UOW’s Innovation Campus today (Thursday 19 March) aimed at promoting international co-operation and partnership between world leaders in materials science and engineering.
Organisers say the development and research of electronic materials will play a crucial role in the advance of technology across the globe.
The workshop is bringing together Australian and international experts working in the field of advanced electronic materials and related applications to discuss new opportunities in innovative materials with emphasis on their practical applications.
Scientists, engineers from academia, government and private company representatives along with students are taking part in the workshop. It is being conducted by the Institute for Superconducting and Electronic Materials (ISEM) under the directorship of Professor Shixue Dou.
Topics at the workshop will cover a range of areas including the latest in superconductors and devices, magnetic materials and devices and electronic materials for bio-applications.
Workshop participants will also have the opportunity to tour ISEM’s new laboratory facilities at the Innovation Campus.
Venue for the two-day workshop is in the Ic Central Building at the Innovation Campus, Squires Way, Fairy Meadow.
