Visiting scholar for ‘Commemoration of the Holocaust’

Academic and author Associate Professor Suzanne Rutland was guest of honour at this year’s ‘Commemoration of the Holocaust’ held at the University of Wollongong.

Professor Rutland from the Department of Hebrew, Biblical and Jewish Studies at the University of Sydney is author of “Edge of the Diaspora” and “The Jews in Australia”.

Her talk held in the Communication Centre Building on 24 April focused on “The Unwanted: post-war Jewish survivor immigration to Australia”.

The candle-lighting ceremony was hosted by UOW’s Australian Union of Jewish Students.
