Economics student’s Table Topics success
Economics honours student at UOW, Tanya Livermore, recently reached the Southern Divison Toastmasters International Table Topics final.
She was runner up in the final against five other competitors.
To achieve this level, Tanya won at her club level (University of Wollongong Toastmasters) and at the Area 3 contest against the local toastmasters clubs.
The Table Topics contest requires the contestant to answer extemporaneously a topic for between one to two minutes. No preparation is permitted for the contestants’ answers. Tanya’s topic was "Mighty by Sacrifice".
The University of Wollongong Toastmasters meets every Wednesday at 12:30pm in Building 20, Lecture Room 5. Anyone interested can contact the UOW Toastmasters President, Dr Grant Cox, on 4221 4304.
