Arts hosts History and English Extension students
The Faculty of Arts this week attracted high-achieving HSC school students to the University by conducting English and History Extension Seminars.
The faculty conducts the events to attract the high-achieving students so as to introduce them to university level studies in their high school disciplines.
It’s also a chance for them to meet UOW academics and help prepare them better for their HSC studies.
About 175 Year 11 History Extension students visited the University on 17 November and yesterday (18 November) about 350 Year 11 English Extension students from all around the state were on campus.
Academics presented a series of talks and, as part of History Extension, mini-workshops ran concurrently where students spoke to historians about possible topics and useful resources.
English Extension students were involved in parallel session talks, a library information talk and a creative writing workshop.
