New scholarship opportunities for students
The Univesity of Wollongong has introduced a range of new scholarship initiatives for domestic and international research students in 2010.
Dean of Research, Professor Tim Marchant, said the new opportunities were part of the UOW vision to increase the number and diversity of research students at the University and he encouraged suitable applicants to apply.
UOW has introduced the new scholarship round closing on March 12 for domestic and international postgraduate students wishing to undertake research doctorate or Masters degrees.
Professor Marchant said this new round was for students wishing to start their studies in Spring Session 2010 and was in addition to the existing scholarship round which closes on 17 October.
There are a range of scholarships on offer including Australian Postgraduate Awards, University Postgraduate Awards and SMART scholarships.
“Two other exciting new initiatives are scholarships for Indigenous Australians and for women in non-traditional areas,” Professor Marchant said.
The Research Student Centre is located on the ground floor of the Communications Building (Bldg 20).
