Wollongong soars even higher in the graduate employment/salaries stakes

Figures to be released tomorrow (Wednesday, 13 December) by the Graduate Careers
Council of Australia will show that the University of Wollongong has improved
its position from earlier this year when it topped the country in the full-time
job market for its under 25 first degree graduates.
Previous Graduate Council figures revealed that when it came to first full-time
employment for its graduates, UOW was ahead of all other Australian universities,
with 91.8 per cent of its graduates entering the workforce finding full-time
employment.
Tomorrow will reveal that the employment rate for those completing undergraduate
degrees and who are under 25 years of age in the full-time job market is 93
per cent for the University of Wollongong. The comparable national figure is
83.7 per cent and in NSW, 86.3 per cent. The figures will be released by the
Minister for Education, Training and Youth Affairs, Dr David Kemp.
The release of the statistics will also show that starting salaries for UOW
graduates is $35,000 while the national average is $33,000.
"We are not only Australias University of the Year* for preparing
graduates for the e-world but we are also Australias best at finding
employment for its undergraduates and seeing they are well paid," the Vice-Chancellor,
