principals to attend breakfast seminar

School principals
throughout Wollongong will be among those attending a breakfast seminar tomorrow
(Friday 3 August) to promote the newly-developed Australian Centre for Educational
Leadership (ACEL).
Guest speaker will be the former NSW Minister for Education and now the Chairman
of the Sydney Cricket Ground Trust, Mr Rodney Cavalier.
The Centre is a networking structure set up to provide support for educational
leaders. The ACEL Advisory Committee comprises representatives from the Australian
College of Education, Australian Council for Educational Administration, Catholic
Education, Independent Schools, NSW Department of Education and Training, NSW
Primary Principals Association, NSW Secondary Principals Council, universities
affiliated with the centre, the UOW Alumni Association Education Chapter and
UOW's Faculty of Education.
Following the breakfast, the school principals will be involved in mock interviews
where every final year Bachelor of Education (Primary) student has the opportunity
to be interviewed by a school principal in preparation for their Department
of Education interviews later in the year.
Time and venue
for breakfast: 7.15am to 8.30am in Food Re-Thought Restaurant, University
of Wollongong (near McKinnon Bldg).
Time and venue for mock interviews: 9am to 3pm in the UniCentre Function Rooms,
University of Wollongong.
