Former
PM to attend university luncheon

Former Prime Minister, Mr Gough Whitlam, will attend a lunch at the
University of Wollongong tomorrow (Wednesday 12 September) as part of
the Universitys 50th birthday celebrations.
Mr Whitlam will
join other honorary graduates of the University of
Wollongong at a lunch to be held in the UniCentre Function Rooms 1 and 2.
The former Labor
Prime Minister received an Honorary Doctor of Letters
degree from the University of Wollongong in 1989.
MEDIA PLEASE
NOTE: Mr Whitlam has indicated that he is available for
filming or photography but at his request does not wish to have any
interviews. The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Gerard Sutton, will address
the lunch at 1pm. Mr Whitlam will not present an address. The lunch will
conclude at about 2pm.
