Building to be named in honour of late professor

The Chancellor, Mr Michael Codd, AC, and the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Gerard Sutton, will be among guests at the opening of the refurbished Building 18 tomorrow (Friday 8 June) at 11.30am to be held in the Building Courtyard.
About 40 visitors will attend the opening and there will be a short address by Professor Len Lindoy of the University of Sydney.

The building will be named The Halpern Chemistry Building in honour of Professor Bert Halpern who was the Foundation Professor of Chemistry at the University of Wollongong (1975-1980). His widow, Mrs Peg Halpern, will perform the honours.
