health developments under the microscope

The latest developments
in Mental Health will come under the microscope at The Illawarra Institute for
Mental Health's second Annual Conference being held on Friday 23 November
2001.
The conference
is being held in affiliation with the Australian and New Zealand College of
Mental Health Nurses Incorporated (Illawarra Sub Branch), Illawarra Area Health
Service (IAHS) and the University of Wollongong (UOW).
More than 30 presentations
on collaborative service delivery, partnerships to promote evidence-based practice
and quality outcomes in mental health and drug and alcohol will take place.
Keynote presenters
include Professor Harvey Whitford from the University of Queensland and Dr Debra
Rickward from the University of Canberra.
Registration is
8am at Wollongong's Novotel Northbeach, Cliff Road, North Wollongong.
A pre-conference
workshop will be held on Thursday 22 November. The guest speaker will be Professor
Kevin Gournay, CBE, Deputy Head of Health Services at the Institute of Psychiatry,
Mauldsley Hospital in London. Professor Gournay has published extensively in
the area of schizophrenia.
