Fitness assessments to flesh-eating superbugs for Year 10 students

The University of Wollongong will host the 10th Annual Siemens Science Experience
-- a three-day science course for Year 10 students from tomorrow (Tuesday 16
January to Thursday 18 January).
Fifty one students will take part in various activities including the Magic
Chemistry Show, Science Relay Quiz, Fitness Assessment, a field trip to Lake
Illawarra to look at fish biodiversity and other activities in the disciplines
of Biology, Physics, Geosciences and Psychology.
Students will also visit the Science Centre and tour the BHP Steel Works.
Corrimal Rotary is providing a barbecue on Wednesday evening (17 January). The
program is supported by Port Kembla Copper, Hatch, BHP, WEE Group of Companies,
IMB, National Bank and the Royal Australian Chemistry Institute.

- Magic Chemistry Show: follows the welcome by the Dean of Science at 9am
on Tuesday 16 January in Building 14 room G01
- Fitness Assessment: Students on tread mills etc 1-2.30pm or 2.30-4pm on
Tuesday 16 January Building 41 room 303
- From Flesh-Eating Superbugs to Greening the Planet: Discovering Biology
on Wednesday 17 January 9-10.30am or 10.45am-12.15pm Building 41 Foyer.
