Singing
their way to a computer...

May 2001
Second year trainee teachers from the University of Wollongong have been assisting
Warrawong Primary School children in their quest to earn more points for the
computer competition being run by Westfield shopping centre.
In order to fulfil their creative arts assessment task and help the school,
the trainee students have been teaching the Year 4 school children a musical
item.
Tomorrow (Thursday 24 May at 12.30pm) their skills will be put in the spotlight
when they, along with the children, will perform at Westfield Warrawong.
The trainee students are involved in the Knowledge Building Community program
which is an alternative approach to teacher education that is based on problem-solving
and collaboration. There are about 70 students from first to third year enrolled
in the program.
