Suicide the focus of special talk

The Student Health Alliance for Rural Populations (SHARP) is sponsoring a talk
on "Suicide Hurts" at Campus East this evening (18 October).
SHARP encourages students to work in rural and remote areas of Australia and
its special guest speaker is Dr Penny Vine. Dr Vine has vast experience in the areas of child guidance and in developmental
disability while running a support group and doing outreach work around community
crisis and in grief education.
She has also been involved in adolescent grief, suicide prevention, and response
to trauma.
Dr Vine was awarded the Order of Australia for 2001 for her tireless efforts
and dedication in these areas. The talk will be held from 6.30pm to 8.30pm in
the Casuarina Room, Level 1, Campus East Administration Building.
Finger food and refreshments will be supplied. A donation can be made at the
door.
